Public engagement and consultation
The law states that NHS organisations must involve and consult patients and the public on:
- the planning and provision of health services
- the development and consideration of proposals for changes in the way those services are provided
- decisions that affect the operation of health services.

NHS West Sussex believes that involving patients and the public in planning, development and decision-making is a core part of our business.
This means engaging with and consulting members of the community, not just when a major change is proposed, but on an ongoing basis.
